BURLINGTON — The Burlington Government Review Committee unanimously approved three warrant articles for Town Meeting, separating Article 8 (Recalls) from the charter at Town Counsel Lisa Mead's recommendation so the governance restructuring can proceed if the recall provision fails. The 8-0-0 vote advanced separate revisions: moving ethics language to apply across all elected and appointed bodies; rewriting the Division of Powers to clarify legislative and executive branches; and approving language for Section 4-3 directing a working group to coordinate School, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works operations, reporting by May 1, 2028. Precinct meetings are scheduled October 13-15 to explain the charter to residents.
