BHS Building Committee sets three renovation priorities

Burlington High School Building Committee establishes MSBA application path with April 17 deadline. Chair K. Bond convened the newly formed subcommittee to focus on three priorities in its Massachusetts School Building Authority Statement of Interest: loss of accreditation, ventilation system replacement or renovation, and replacement or addition of obsolete buildings.

Dr. Conti explained that final recommendations must reach the School Committee within 30 days, with town warrants due within 45 days. Mr.

Cunha presented the MSBA process; Ms. Monaco outlined two funding pathways involving either an MSBA application or a consultant-led three-year plan. Ms.

McGonagle raised concerns about a 2025 Section 7 law change potentially mandating full ADA compliance for public buildings.
