Board of Appeals · Meeting of May 19, 2026
Burlington's Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a detached shed variance for homeowner Ouriel DeJesus Filho at 1 Elizabeth Ave on May 19. The structure would be located 6.3 feet from the property line for storage of lawn equipment and tools. Board Chairman DiBona noted the $4,300 application cost reflected an unintended consequence of a recent bylaw change that expanded the definition of structures requiring board approval.
In a separate matter, applicant Rajeshwarri Mahaadevan withdrew her request to subdivide her Ardmore Ave property into two non-conforming lots after neighborhood opposition raised density and construction concerns.
