Board of Health approves henhouse permit, reorganizes

Board of Health · Meeting of April 14, 2026

BURLINGTON — Board of Health approves henhouse permit and reorganizes leadership. The Board voted unanimously on a permit for six hens at 1 Eugene Road after a second inspection confirmed the enlarged coop met municipal standards. An abutter raised concerns about noise and odor affecting her patio and her child's environmental allergies, but the Board confirmed compliance with guidelines.

Gayle DaMore continues as Chairman and Andrea Sheehan as Vice Chairman, both approved unanimously. The Board formed a kratom-regulation subcommittee, noting the mild stimulant is sold at seven Burlington locations and labeled a "drug and chemical concern" by the DEA.
