Board of Health approves hens permit, restaurant variance

Burlington Board of Health approves permits for backyard hens and restaurant expansion. The board voted 4-0-0 to approve a permit for applicant Bevin Nichols to keep six hens at 6 Luther Road after she adopted the birds from a relocating family, with Health Agent Marlene Johnson reviewing site plans and management documentation. The board also voted 4-0-0 to grant a variance for Naya, a Middle Eastern restaurant at 112 Burlington Mall Road with fresh bowls and beverages and no alcohol, targeting a June opening with an external grease interceptor and Area Manager Aques Gomes representing the applicant.
The board addressed a member vacancy by voting 4-0-0 to operate as a four-member board until April following member Maribeth Welch's resignation.
