Burlington Capital Budget backs $2.7M school improvements

Burlington Capital Budget Committee backs FY27 school district improvements totaling $2.7M. The committee voted on 11 capital projects with strong support for most items, including $685,960 for boiler room repairs at Burlington High School, $605,000 for a cooling tower replacement at Marshall Simonds Middle School, and $329,215.10 for computer and technology equipment refresh. A $280,840 curriculum adoption proposal drew abstentions rather than opposition, with committee members withholding votes pending cost amendments at the May Town Meeting.
The committee also approved $347,325 for a security vestibule at Pine Glen School on a contentious 3-2-1 vote.
