Burlington Government Review Committee advances charter changes with mixed support. The committee voted 10-1 to rename the Committee of Ways and Means to the Finance Committee, 10-1 to maintain a 20 percent referendum threshold, and unanimously approved current Select Board structure language. A contentious 9-2 vote approved language placing Town Administrator contracting and procurement authority under the town administrator.
Chair Betsey Hughes noted the committee is behind schedule as members develop expertise.
