Burlington School Committee reviews BHS Program of Studies for January vote

School Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026

Burlington School Committee previews updated BHS Program of Studies for January vote. Superintendent Dr. Eric Conti presented the first reading, detailing new course offerings aligned with state recommendations, removal of low-enrollment courses, and a new Portrait of a Graduate initiative requiring digital portfolios from the class of 2030.

Concurrent enrollment replaces dual enrollment to expand college credit opportunities. The program will be posted online for family review, and the committee will vote on final approval at its January 27 meeting after administrators survey students, families, and educators on grading policy changes.
