BYFS Board approves prior minutes; hears director's report on caseload and staffing.

BURLINGTON — The Burlington Youth and Family Services Board approved its September 15 minutes and heard Executive Director David Lankford report a caseload of 118 individuals across 24 families and 30 individual cases, with fee collection of $5,687 since the last meeting. Basic Needs support prevented two to four evictions and utility shut-offs. An unfilled part-time position contributed to fees slightly below last year; two candidates were interviewed but neither was deemed a good fit.
The agency operates seven staff positions serving families with children ages nine to twenty-five and plans a monthly narrative therapy training series for community counselors and social workers. Board Member Mike Espejo requested collaboration with the town's new communications director to boost awareness of BYFS services.
