Capital Budget Committee · Meeting of January 28, 2026

Burlington Capital Budget backs $25,000 sensory trailer to support residents. The Capital Budget Committee unanimously approved the warrant for the mobile trailer, designed as a quiet, calming space for individuals experiencing sensory overload. Program Coordinator Kelly Lehman of Parks and Recreation presented the initiative, noting that approximately 135 to 150 Burlington families would benefit.

The trailer is intended for individuals with autism or other neurodivergent conditions, people with sensory processing disorders, those with anxiety or PTSD, children overwhelmed in crowded environments, and older adults.
