BURLINGTON — Information Systems Security Advisory Committee approves prior minutes, discusses student cybersecurity initiatives. The committee voted 7-0-0 to approve its February 10 minutes. Members discussed Shereen Tyrrell's invitation for committee mentoring of seven Burlington High School seniors preparing for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam in April and May, and learned that Burlington schools are piloting a social media literacy program.
The committee raised questions about E-Rate program requirements and their implications for internet service provider procurement, and suggested inviting town and school HR directors to brief members on cybersecurity practices related to employee onboarding and offboarding.
