Fox Hill School Building Committee clears invoices, sets January contractor deadline

BURLINGTON — November 13, 2025 — Burlington's Fox Hill School Building Committee approved more than $815,000 in design and construction invoices and announced that general contractor bids are due January 6, with a contract award expected by mid-January. The committee voted 9-0-1 to approve October minutes and then unanimously cleared five Denizio Construction invoices totaling approximately $716,998 and a Doran Whittier cost-estimating invoice for $98,450. All four pre-qualified general contractors — CTA, Fontaine Brothers, Brait Builders, and WT Rich — have confirmed they will bid, with sub-bids due December 23 and bid documents available online starting December 2. Project staff described the MSBA's 90 percent construction-document feedback as "very typical" with no deal-breakers, and said responses would be returned to the authority by mid-week. Committee member John Denizio proposed forming a change-order subcommittee before full construction begins, a suggestion project managers endorsed and said they would formalize by January or February.
