Government Review Subcommittee refines charter survey draft
Government Review Committee · Meeting of March 25, 2026
Burlington Government Review Subcommittee refines charter survey for resident input. The subcommittee, meeting via Zoom with all five members present, reviewed and refined questions on town government structure, administrator authority, and forms of government. Stephanie Lessing, presenting the survey for the Collins Center, led refinements including clarified language distinguishing town administrator from town manager titles and revised questions about administrator authority over non-union employee policies.
The subcommittee agreed to add questions about the Town Meeting and Zoning Board of Appeals while removing Transportation Committee and Government Review Committee questions. A revised draft is due March 30, with the subcommittee convening April 7 to finalize the survey.
