Historical Commission seeks $100,000 for shed project

Historical Commission · Meeting of February 25, 2026

Burlington Historical Commission plans $100,000 shed project for May town meeting. Commission members Peter Coppola, Michael Shutan, Kathi Horton, Joyce Fay, Andy Rittenberg, and Sandy Coveno agreed to request $100,000 for a shed project at the May town meeting, pending Ways and Means committee approval on March 11. The commission deferred museum organization and cataloging work to March and continues work on police station preservation following the Union school demolition, with roof materials stored at Francis Wyman.

Planning for the town's 250th anniversary celebration includes a commemorative button contest and approximately 1,000 items for distribution.
