BURLINGTON — The Information Systems Security Advisory Committee approved May minutes and discussed ongoing security operations. The Security Operations Center is operational with infrastructure refresh action items underway. Committee member Kevin Pumphrey identified the State of Oregon and City of Boston business continuity models as guides for developing the town's disaster recovery and continuity plans, with creation potentially appropriate for the newly formed Emergency Response Planning Group.
The committee also heard updates on a Career Technical Education Program for Programming and Web Development being developed by Shereen Tyrrell, Director of the Career Pathways program at Burlington High School, which is seeking Massachusetts Chapter 74 approval, and discussed whether the IT Department has a documented five-to-ten-year vision and strategy separate from the current five-year technology refresh cycle.
