BURLINGTON — The Burlington Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved three library policies and adopted the Town of Burlington's Remote Participation Policy on June 11. Library Director Mike Wick presented updates to the Circulation Policy, Collection Development Policy, and Lending to Residents of Decertified Libraries Policy, all carrying minor revisions to letterhead, signature lines, and formatting. The Collection Development Policy language on works of local historical value was edited to read "may not be subject" rather than "are not subject" to weeding criteria.
Wick noted the Massachusetts Freedom to Read Bill, if passed, would require future policy clarification. The Board also adjusted the FY27 meeting calendar, canceling July 9 and moving December 10 to December 17, while noting an August 13 change remains possible pending quorum confirmation.
