Library trustees approve FY27 budget with staffing adjustments

Burlington Library approves FY27 budget after cutting Sunday staffing. Library Director Mike Wick reduced the budget to a 5.75 percent increase through approximately $24,350 in cuts, including a $13,700 salary reduction from cutting Reference Desk Sunday staffing from two to one person, with trustees voting unanimously 6-0. The board also unanimously allocated $8,000 from LIGMEG and state aid for staff development and approved $2,700 for four circulating laptops.
In a separate 4-1-1 vote, trustees approved closing the Library on March 27 for a professional development workshop on communication and shared organizational goals led by consultant Danielle Giannone of Withinsight Development.
