Public Arts Committee delays warrant article, faces budget strain until May 2027.
Public Arts Committee · Meeting of June 17, 2026
BURLINGTON — Public Arts Committee postpones September Town Meeting warrant article to May 2027 at Town Administration's request. The delay will strain the committee's finances and force service cutbacks, including cancellation of plans to purchase Edwin the dragon. Members including Barbara L'Heureux, Mike Wick, and Bob Buckley discussed short-term solutions, including coordinating events with the Burlington Public Library for financial support.
The Goodnight Johnny's fundraiser raised approximately $360, while the Mural project proceeds with community engagement and sculptures are being managed in coordination with the Department of Public Works.
