BURLINGTON — School Committee approves $2.56 million in capital warrant articles. With three members present, the committee unanimously approved nine facilities and equipment projects, including $685,960 for BHS boiler room repairs and $605,000 for Marshall Simonds Plumbing cooling tower work, as Finance Director Nichole Coscia presented the FY27 budget requiring a $308,000 departmental reduction against a 4.71 percent anticipated increase. The committee advanced Burlington High School's School Choice program to first reading, permitting up to twenty non-resident admissions across grades nine through twelve, and deferred action on a state-mandated substance abuse screening protocol pending public posting of screening questions.
