School Committee approves BHS program, Spanish trip, travel policies.

Burlington School Committee unanimously approves BHS Program of Studies and Spanish exchange. Superintendent Dr. Eric Conti explained the Spanish Exchange Program will send 14 Burlington High School students to Spain from February 4 to February 20, 2026, with the school encumbering $9,000 and additional immediate requests totaling $18,467.88 for flights and hotel.
The committee voted 5-0 to approve Policy JJH on overnight school-sponsored student travel and Policy JLC on Student Health Services, with the BMI screening removal pending legal counsel review. The After School Program changes passed 4-1, with Jeremy Brooks dissenting; Director of Operations Bob Cunha will solicit parental feedback before closing the Marshall Simonds program at 5:30 p.m.
