Burlington School Committee approves Canobie Lake Park field trip for middle school, defers health standards. Vice Chair Meghan Nawoichik led the meeting with Chair Katherine Bond absent. The committee unanimously approved the June 12 field trip and a $3,891 stipend for the South Asian Student Association.
A motion to approve revised 2023 health and physical education standards failed 2-2, with Melissa Massardo and Jeremy Brooks in favor and Christine Monaco and Nawoichik opposed; Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa Chen will continue curriculum work with the Wellness Committee. Director of Operations Bob Cunha announced afternoon late buses for high school and middle school will no longer run.
