School Committee approves France trip, explores bathroom facilities planning.

BURLINGTON — The Burlington School Committee unanimously approved a 2027 out-of-country trip to France for French students, with registration opening May 26 and a proposal deadline of June 24. Chair Katherine Bond, Vice Chair Meghan Nawoichik, and members Christine Monaco, Melissa Massardo, and Jeremy Brooks all voted in favor on Superintendent Dr. Eric Conti's recommendation.
The committee also heard public comment from eight educators including BEA President Sean Musselman expressing disappointment over the discontinuance of the one-year early release pilot program; Chair Bond responded that students need more classroom time, not less. Burlington High School earned the Early College Designation from DESE, recognizing effort by Ms. Shereen Tyrrell, Dr.
Lisa Chen, Ms. Shannon Janovitz, and Mr. Mark Sullivan to assist families with tuition costs.
