School Committee approves Wayfinder survey, $7,920 DESE grant, and teacher stipends.

Burlington School Committee approves DESE grant for career planning initiative. The Committee unanimously accepted a $7,920 Department of Elementary and Secondary Education grant supporting the MyCAP program, a state-mandated middle school initiative, and approved the Wayfinder post-test survey with an opt-out option. Jeremy Brooks abstained on the Wayfinder vote while four members voted in favor.

The Committee also unanimously approved Burlington Education Association Unit A stipend placement, with stipends ranging from $500 in year one to $750 in year two and Schedule E rates in year three. Director of Operations Bob Cunha reported HVAC work is scheduled and bids are out for vestibule repairs, with two years remaining on the current transportation contract after the Committee rejected bringing bussing in-house.
