Select Board · Meeting of May 4, 2026

Burlington Select Board unanimously approved two municipal appointments with waived waiting periods on May 4. Dan Hanafin was appointed Police Deputy Chief effective May 5, and Christopher Brown was approved as Water and Sewer Department Pump Station Operator effective May 11, with Town Administrator John Danizio requesting both expedited starts. The board also unanimously approved a six-month extension of the cell tower lease on Blanchard Road at $6,100 monthly as the original 20-year agreement expired in 2026, and authorized the Public Arts Committee to rotate Town Common sculptures as three leases end.

Warrant Article 3.16 on a Historical Shed was postponed for more information; Article 17 on the Fourth of July Parade was flagged for concern about declining donations and rising costs.
