Board of Health · Meeting of March 18, 2026

BURLINGTON — The Tri-Ton Coalition Advisory Board, representing Burlington, Lexington, and Wilmington, approved prior minutes and received a presentation from Tahycha Soto, Health Inspector/Tobacco Inspector, on improved tobacco retailer compliance. Susan Lumenello, Director of the Burlington Board of Health, reported that approximately 50 applications were received for a part-time Health Inspector position but none had relevant experience; the board discussed hiring a contract Health Inspector compensated per inspection instead. Lumenello proposed creating a part-time Community Outreach Worker position to support maternal and child health initiatives and develop a Hoarding Task Force, which both Shelly Newhouse of Wilmington and Alicia McCartin of Lexington supported.

Tobacco Grant funding for fiscal 2027 has been approved.
