BURLINGTON — Ways and Means approves 11 municipal budgets totaling $51.6 million in near-unanimous votes. Chair Doug Davison's committee backed the Middlesex Retirement Fund at $16,222,772 and Debt Service at $10,407,163, both unanimously, alongside Employee Benefits at $20,180,017, which drew one dissenting vote due to a 9 percent increase tied to health insurance costs. Assistant Town Manager Patrick Lawlor noted the employee premium share is rising 14 percent, though the town trust fund balance helps absorb annual shocks.
Smaller line items including Town Insurance, Financial Services, Medicare, and Negotiated Settlements all passed with unanimous support.
