Ways and Means approves $35.6M in central administration and debt service budgets

BURLINGTON — Ways and Means approves $35.6M in central administration and debt service budgets. The Town Hall 1 Subcommittee unanimously advanced Department 149 Central Administration at $25.2 million and Department 710 Debt Service at $10.4 million on March 18. Health insurance funding reached $20.2 million, a 9 percent increase reflecting higher premium renewals and recovered utilization, while the Other Post Employment Benefits trust received $1.33 million to address a $110 million unfunded retiree health liability.
Existing debt obligations total $6.7 million with $3.3 million in proposed new borrowing.
