School Committee · Meeting of April 29, 2026
Burlington's Wellness Advisory Committee endorses revised K-12 health education policy aligned with 2023 frameworks. The committee, including School Committee members Melissa Massardo and Meaghan Nawoichik along with 16 other district and community representatives, took consensus action on Grade 6-8 standards during its April 29 meeting. The revised policy will next be reviewed by the John Stalker Institute, then submitted to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for pre-approval before returning to the full School Committee for formal adoption.
The health and PE department currently operates under 1999 standards and has not yet adopted the 2023 frameworks.
