Burlington Board Continues Middlesex Marketplace Sign Rebranding to December 16
BURLINGTON — December 2, 2025 — Burlington's sign board continued a rebranding application for the struggling Middlesex Marketplace plaza at 90 Middlesex Turnpike, pushing a decision to December 16. The application, case 25-14, covers a suite of signs centered on a double-stacked MM logo — including a reddish-orange monument sign at the entrance drive, seven orange MM signs on existing light poles, and a reconfigured tenant tower sign — but no individual tenant advertisements. Board members raised concerns about a proposed monument sign that comes in at 47 square feet, exceeding the 30-square-foot Planned Development District threshold and requiring relief. The board also demanded revised renderings showing only current tenants in the tower sign boxes and asked for a rendering that places the monument and pole signs together on one sheet. The Planning Board chair had separately emailed to request a review of the application before final action is taken.
