Burlington's Zoning Board of Appeals approved updated signage for Lahey Clinic's Burlington Mall Road campus and stalled a Sarah Street permit. The board voted 5-0 to approve two wall signs for the hospital, which is reverting to the "Lahey Clinic" name it dropped years ago before its 2019 merger into Beth Israel Lahey Health. Attorney Mark Vaughan said Lahey "is looking to update and modernize the signage... to be consistent with its current name and branding," while space planning manager Chris Gola explained a logo-proportion rule that pushed the sign slightly above the roofline.

The approval carries conditions barring additional signage and capping illumination at 90 lumens per square foot. Separately, the board continued a special permit case for 12 Sarah Street to October 6 after the applicant again failed to appear and a newly filed plot plan showed a basement-access structure far larger than originally proposed.
