Planning Board · Meeting of June 4, 2026
Burlington's Planning Board approved a special permit for an interactive gaming venue and rescinded a decades-old Peach Lane subdivision. The board voted 7-0 to let Sounds Fun Activate Burlington LLC open twelve timed game rooms at 90 Middlesex Turnpike's Middlesex Marketplace, with project manager Chase Torgerson promising guests "come out sweating." Members also voted 7-0 to rescind a 2012 two-lot subdivision plan on Peach Lane after the owner's buyer hit title trouble, and approved a Town Hall generator and chiller project where DPW Director Brian White compared the new equipment's noise to "moderate rain to a vacuum cleaner." VHB presented a $1 million MassWorks-funded vision plan for Middlesex Turnpike's 24,000-vehicle-a-day corridor; Vice Chair Barbara L'Heureux said she "cannot" determine how the town would pay for it. The board continued hearings on Nordblom's 188-unit project at 129-131 Middlesex Turnpike, tied to a new $3.1 million housing grant, to June 18.
