Other Committee · Meeting of July 7, 2026
Burlington's Zoning Board of Appeals approved a garage and porch variance for 9 Cresthaven Avenue and forwarded three zoning bylaw changes to the September Town Meeting. The board voted 5-0 to let homeowners Daniel Walsh and Amanda Walsh build an oversized one-car garage six feet from their side property line and a covered entry 23 feet from the front lot line, citing their slab foundation's inability to support a second story. Metro Sign representative Kate Colon secured a 5-0 approval for a new wall sign at 34 Cambridge Street for Letourneau's Home Medical Equipment, capped at 90 lumens per square foot.
A sign variance for 5254 3rd Avenue was continued to August 18 after a legal-ad error. The board also advanced a bylaw letting existing homes build front porches 20 feet from the street, after a member noted "the sixth application we've had this year for the same thing."
