Other Committee · Meeting of September 2, 2026

Burlington's Zoning Board of Appeals approved signage for Press Cafe and Activate Games but continued a contested Sarah Street variance. The board voted 5-0 to let Press Cafe add a logo sign at its expanded 200 District Avenue location and 5-0 to approve a 10-sign package for Activate Games at 90-92 Middlesex Turnpike, after trimming an oversized "Games Await" tagline sign attorney Christine Hung's client had proposed. "We've never had an applicant where they had a tagline that was larger than their sign," one board member said.

The board then continued, rather than decided, a variance request for a basement walkout at 12 Sarah Street, after neighbor John Hickey said "enough is enough" over years of drainage problems and neighbor Lou Gennari asked, "So you're creating a bowling alley, right?" The case returns September 15.
