Burlington's Fox Hill School Building Committee approved roughly $3.4 million in construction invoices and commitments. Chair Katherine Bond led eight roll-call votes, all passing 8-0 except the July 21 minutes, which cleared 5-0 with three abstentions, including David Rosenblatt's. The largest payment, $2,818,227.67, went to contractor CTA for July work, alongside a $25,192.89 change order.
The committee also approved a $463,259 budget revision shifting contingency funds to cover testing and mural-artist overages, leaving $423,995 in reserve. Vice Chair Meghan Nawoichik pushed for updated pricing on the school's still-undecided playground vendor, saying the committee needs "to have on the next agenda" a decision "as quickly as possible to try to save money any way we can." One member said they were "really kind of disturbed" to learn of a prior vote to spend an extra $185,000 on a comparable playground option. A steel topping-off ceremony, where students will sign the final beam, is set for September 2.
