Select Board · Meeting of October 19, 2026
Burlington's Select Board closed a public hearing on Cormier Road speed tables after learning a five-year paving moratorium blocks the work despite the road meeting eligibility criteria. Engineering staff Megan and town staffer Patrick said two speed-limit signs, new stop lines and dynamic speed display signs have been installed or ordered as interim measures following a September 23 site walk with roughly 20 neighbors. Resident Tushar Gala asked for a second sign near his Cormier Road property, and staff acknowledged residents were mistakenly given a speed-table application before the moratorium was flagged, with Patrick saying, "I'm not sure where the information came from." The board separately voted 4-0-0 to appoint officers Ryan McGillivray, Elvin Chang and Justin Carey, promote Jeff Boucher to fire lieutenant, approve AMC Theatres' extended holiday hours, and approve a $123,300 ownership transfer at Kiremen restaurant.
