Conservation Commission approves tree removal at Burlington Marketplace with replacement conditions

BURLINGTON — Conservation Commission clears tree removal at Burlington Marketplace with replanting order. The board voted 4-0-0 to approve removal of six white pines at 68-110 Burlington Mall Road, owned by Linear Retail Burlington #1, LLC, following testimony from Arborist Dan Cathcart that cabling would cause more harm. Conservation Administrator Eileen Coleman and Assistant Administrator Lucy Hansen recommended approval as the trees pose structural risk.
Replacement pines must measure 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter and be deciduous species. The commission also issued Certificates of Compliance for four separate projects including work at 10 Grandview Avenue, Cambridge Street (two permits), and 1 Wheeler Road.
