BURLINGTON — The Burlington Select Board voted 5-0 to authorize Town Administrator John Danizio to sign a new municipal electricity aggregation contract of up to three years. Financial and Purchasing Analyst Sam Hockenbury said the expiring two-year deal saved the average household about $250 and the average commercial account about $800, with new indicative pricing around 16.3 cents per kilowatt hour against Eversource's 17.3-cent default rate. "Your bills are going to be going up this winter," Hockenbury told the board.

Separately, the board took no action on seeking a state waiver to block cannabis delivery, meaning the new state default permitting delivery will stand. Members also heard an initial Eversource presentation on a proposed Wind Street substation and a $1 million-funded Middlesex Turnpike corridor redesign plan, and unanimously promoted three police officers, including Tom Carlson to captain.
